Discontinuation of MasterPlex CT v1.x

Hitachi Solutions America, Ltd. (HISAL) will discontinue MasterPlex CT v1.0 and v1.2, control software for the LX100/200 instrument manufactured by Luminex Corp., on July 5th, 2011.  Due to the changing market conditions, we feel this change will best serve our customers in the long run.

Please note HISAL is NOT discontinuing MasterPlex QT (v3.0 and higher), MasterPlex EX (v1.0 and higher) and MasterPlex GT v2.3. These analysis packages for the Luminex/Bio-Plex/MSD platforms will continue to be developed, supported and sold since they are independent of the platform.

Current users of the above mentioned versions of MasterPlex CT will be able to continue to use these products and receive technical support from the MiraiBio Group of HISAL until December 31st, 2011. After December 31st, 2011 HISAL will terminate public and technical support for all versions of MasterPlex CT. Users can still use MasterPlex CT after that date and existing support documents and content will continue to be available on the MiraiBio Group website.

What are my options if I want to continue to use the Luminex 100/200 platform?

1)      Continue to use MasterPlex CT – MasterPlex CT is still a viable option for Luminex 100/200 instrument control and even supports Luminex’s latest version of magnetic microspheres. HISAL will continue to support MasterPlex CT until December, 31st 2011.

2)      Convert your LX100/200 control software to xPONENT v3.1 – Luminex Corp. has its own current version of control software that includes an Automated Maintenance Plate and will be fully supported by Luminex Corp. Click here if you want to learn more about converting to xPONENT v3.1.

Please contact info@miraibio.com if you have any questions about this announcement.

Biomarkers for studying gene regulation and cell function can be efficiently analyzed by multiplexed methods.  Dr. Jim Lazar from OriGene Technologies will provide an overview of four different but related detection technologies that can be used to analyze genetic variants, microRNA expression, transcription factor binding, and protein expression on the Luminex xMAP platform.  OriGene’s broad panel of assays and tools for discovery, analysis and validation of multiple classes of important biomarkers will allow researcher to develop more accurate descriptions of biologically complex systems.

New Best Fit options in MasterPlex QT’s latest release and more…

The Hitachi Software MiraiBio Group has just released a new build of MasterPlex QT v4.0 that boasts several new improvements:

  • Best Fit Options – The Best Fit feature now offers 3 parameters for which you can optimize for to determine the best curve fit:
    1. Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) – RMSE is a good measure of accuracy or goodness of fit which aggregates the individual differences or residuals between your expected and calculated values into a single measure of predictive power. This is the default option as it is the one that is recommended.
    2. Standard Deviation of % Recovery – This option will provide the model equation and weighting algorithm combination with the lowest standard deviation of percent recovery. The percent recovery is basically the calculated concentration – the expected concentration * 100.
    3. R-squared – This option is the only Best Fit option in previous builds of MasterPlex QT v4.0. It is not as sensitive to the goodness of fit as the RMSE option.

  • Competitive Binding and Inhibition Assays – This build provides improved support for competitive binding or inhibition assays.
  • More Intuitive Auto Fill – Auto Fill is simplified with more intuitive dilution direction buttons and being able to preview the standard values.
