MicroPlex-xTAG™ Microspheres (formerly named FlexMAP™ Beads)

MicroPlex-xTAG SNP analysis Microspheres coupled with the Luminex® xMAP Platform and MasterPlex® GT Genotyping Software provide a complete system for quick, productive and cost-efficient SNP genotyping and haplotyping.

xTAG Microspheres (formerly named FlexMAP Beads) are internally labeled with fluorescent dyes and are pre-coupled with xTAG oligonucleotide sequences (anti-tags) that are optimized to be an isothermal set and to have minimum cross-reactivity. The second component of the xTAG product is your custom oligonucleotide set you wish to multiplex, which must first be tagged with 24-base xTAG tags in order to be captured to the xTAG microspheres.

Genotyping with MicroPlex xTAG beads and MasterPlex GT Software

1. Design compatible oligos - This is actually the hardest step and where MiraiBio's expertise in bioinformatics can help you. We've designed an application called ASPE, which is part of our FREE DNASIS SmartNote product, that helps you automatically design optimal primers for your combination of sequences and probes.
2. Synthesize your oligos - Once you've designed the oligos in DNASIS SmartNote, they can easily be ordered from IDT.
3. Run the assay on the Luminex instrument - We have some sample protocols to help guide you through setting up the assay. You can then use our MasterPlex CT software, which comes bundled with our analysis software, to help make the acquisition of your data fast and painless.
4. Analyze the data - Since these assays typically generate large amounts of data and require calculations that are not included in general spreadsheet software, you can save a lot of time by using MasterPlex GT for all your analysis.
